Bellator 38 successfully kicked-off the promotion's season four Light Heavyweight tournament with an exciting night of fights from Harrah’s Tunica Hotel & Casino in Tunica, Mississippi.  Tim Carpenter continued his unbeaten streak, upsetting Daniel Gracie in the main event to improve to 7-0, while D.J. Linderman picked up a late stoppage victory over tourney favorite Raphael Davis.  Richard Hale put on an awesome display, submitting Nik Fekete with an impressive inverted triangle choke, as did Christian M’Pumbu, who scored a TKO win over Chris Davis.  All of the nights winners will advance to the semi-final round of Bellator's inagural Light Heavyweight tournament, which will take place later this season.

What really makes that inverted triangle choke so impressive, besides the rarity of the hold, is that this was a Light Heavyweight who pulled it off. Props to Richard Hale, along with Chan Sung Jung for his twister hold on Leonard Garcia. Both pulled out some creative stuff tonight. Good night of MMA all around.
