Andrei Arlovski hits back at critics, says he has no Head Trauma

"Come on, let's be f*cking serious. I'm already sick of f*cking stupid questions about head injuries and weak chin. It's f*cking bullsh*t and honestly, it pisses me off. Who says? I don't know. I'm feeling great. I'm in good shape and everything's fine. Do I look like a f*cking retired person or something? I don't understand. Next question.

Leo Khrolinsky (Arlovski's manager) was the first one who told me my rule: you have to first check yourself and afterwards you have to keep up to let you continue to fight because he probably first person except my mom and my family who concerned about my health. He basically took me by the hand and walked me to the doctor's office and we did all checks, all scans and everything's fine. I get same question over and over and everything's fine. After my fight with Kharitonov, like everybody, all the information about my health, this and that. Of course I want to fight and don't want to do any other exams but of course I was emotional after that fight. Leo said, "it's up to our friendship. You have to first check your health, check your brain, your head and see what you're gonna do and find out what you're gonna do after." - Arlovski's Press Conference (quotes via BloodyElbow.com)

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski will face Ray Lopez in ProElite's resurrection debut on August 27th, with sights on putting his career back on track after four consecutive losses. Arlovski has 9 losses on his record, 7 via KO/TKO - three of them coming in four of his last fights. In his last fight, "The Pitbull" once again found himself with face down on the canvas, after getting KO'd unconscious by Sergei Kharitonov in the quarter-final of Strikeforce Heavyweight GP.

Arlovski's opponent at ProElite, Ray Lopez, holds a professional Mixed Martial Arts record of 5-2, with only 2 KO/TKO victories. One of those victories came in Lopez's last fight against the now 5-10 Rob Morrow at KOTC - Underground 69 on July 16th.

Sadly, Arlovski's chin is the only thing that's holding him back.. The guy has great technique in the stand up. If he could manage to develop a gameplan to work around that weakness, i think he could still be top 20. He should try to go for takedowns more often to wear opponents with KO power down and then stand up with em in the later rounds.. I'm not an expert, but i'm sure the guy at Greg Jackson's could convince him to make changes..

In his defense, properly placed punches from Kharitonov, Fedor and Brett Rogers would KO anybody. You can say what you want about Rogers and Fedor being overrated, but there is no denying their power.

He may not be Rocky, but he has a better chin than people are giving him credit for. Forrest Griffin got KO'd by a lot less, and nobody says he has a "p4p weak chin." You can say what you want about Arlovski, but I'm going to reserve judgment until he starts getting KO'd by jabs and off-balance short hooks rather than power punches by proven KO artists.

Good point, but he got hit with exponentially more force than Forrest did.

In comparison to Forrest, being KTFO does in fact, stop Arlovski from running out of the octagon after being ambarassed :S

There's not a bigger name on a bigger losing streak than AA. And these weren't regular loses. These were highlight KO's. But i really hope he can get a win in his next bout.

He really is delusional in my opinion. He needs to stop hanging out with these yes men and get it through to his head that there is something wrong with him. Any man who gets KO'ed and put to sleep, it has to put a toll on their body and mind.

I once read in a science magazine that Arlovski's chin is 74% glass and 26% chicken bone.

Arlovski is a legit fighter. There is a reason he is the former UFC Heavyweight champion, but no matter how legit his skills are his health is at risk the more he fights. I'm genuinely concerned with the amount of head trauma injuries he has suffered in his career.
