Palmer took him down in the round and Almeida went for a heel hook but had to let it go. They exchange throughout the first round. Palmer was still looking to take the fight to the ground in the second round but Almeida was shutting him down. Almeida dropped him at the end of the third round and thought the fight was over but Palmer got back to his feet and the fight continued. Palmer found his distance in round 4 and was landing some good shots. Almeida stayed in the pocket and was exchanging. Close round. In round 5, the pace slowed down but they had a solid fight. The judges gave the win to Palmer the win and WSOF has a new featherweight champion.
