Video: Fedor Emelianenko Is In Top Shape For MMA Return

MMA legend and former Pride FC heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko irked many MMA fans and media members when he decided to sign with Nobuyuki Sakakibara’s upstart promotion Rizin Fighting, foregoing the tougher competition of the UFC or even the next best thing in rival Bellator.

That sentiment was only escalated when “The Last Emperor’s” rumored return opponent was said to be former K-1 kickboxer Jaideep Singh, who is the proud owner of a 1-0 MMA record. Fedor’s former manager Vadim Finkelchtein spoke up to state that Singh would not be his opponent as he provided no challenge for the Russian legend.

So while it’s unknown as to just whom Fedor will be fighting as the culmination of Rizin’s three-day New Year’s Eve fighting extravaganza, it appears that “The Last Emperor” is staying in top shape for just whomever it will be. Several photos of the all-time great looking especially jacked have surfaced online since it was announced he was coming back, and it’s only continuing.

A training video from Russian site Sming Media recently surfaced online, featuring Fedor looking in incredible shape as he prepares to return a massively muscled heavyweight. Many still believe that he’s only in for a big paycheck against a subpar opponent, but it appears Emelianenko is beyond motivated to destroy whatever tomato can they match him up with a vengeance.

A large number of old school MMA fans are holding onto hope that Fedor will finally come to the UFC to fight the best after a two-fight stint with Rizin, but that could be just a hope. If he ever does, however, it looks like Fedor is going to be in tip-top shape when he does.

Are you still excited about his comeback, or has that ship sailed for you after the rather uninspiring announcement about his new promotion?
