Reginaldo Vieira Defeats Dileno Lopes In War To Win TUF: Brazil 4 Bantamweight Tournament

The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): Brazil 4 tournament finals took place at UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Aug. 1, 2015. The first one was the bantamweight final. Dileno Lopes (18-2) and Reginaldo Vieira (13-3) walked into the HSBC Arena hoping to walk away victorious.

Vieira missed a leg kick right away. They engaged in a clinch and Lopes landed a barrage of uppercuts to the body. They broke free and Lopes missed a leg kick. They tied up and Vieira locked in a guillotine choke. Lopes moved to side control with his back against the cage. Lopes slipped out and synched up his own guillotine choke. Vieira got out and landed a knee to the body.

They exchanged punches and Lopes dropped Vieira and went for another guillotine. Once again, Vieira got out. They separated from the clinch and traded punches. Vieira landed a kick to the body followed by a straight to the jaw. The round closed with Lopes bleeding over the left eye.

The second round began and Lopes got in a kick on Vieira’s lead leg. Vieira stepped in and landed a straight right. A thudding kick to the body connected for Lopes. The action slowed down from the blazing start in round one.

Vieira chopped away at Lopes’ leg with a hard kick. Lopes connected with a leg kick and started winging punches. Vieira looked for the Muay Thai plum, but Lopes fought out of it. Both men went to the ground, but were stood back up as round two ended.

The fighters embraced before the start of the final round.

Round three began and Vieira connected with a jab. A thudding leg kick landed for Vieira. Lopes charged in for a takedown, but his opponent shook it off. Lopes pushed forward and landed a left hand. Lopes was able to secure a takedown with just under three minutes left in the fight.

Lopes went for another guillotine attempt, but Vieira popped his head out eventually as he was bleeding. Vieira wound up in full guard and dropped some hammerfists as Lopes connected with elbows from the bottom. The fight ended with both men trading punches on the ground.

The judges were in favor of Vieira, who walked away as the TUF: Brazil 4 bantamweight winner.

Final Result: Reginaldo Vieira def. Dileno Lopes via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28)
