Joe Rogan Suggests He & Ronda Rousey Once Smoked Weed Before Appearing On His Show

Another day, another entertaining quote from the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

After recently calling Conor McGregor’s interim UFC featherweight championship a ‘made up’ belt, Rogan is back to tell us about a memory he shared with the UFC’s other biggest current star, women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

Rousey appeared on the podcast yesterday (watch the video starting at the 15:16 mark above) and she recalled a bit of nervous tension from the first time she appeared on the show, which she is now highly accustomed to due to her massive newfound fame.

Rogan then spoke up with the information that may have been because they were smoking a specific substance prior to originally going on air:

Rousey: Now I’m in high-pressure situations all the time and I can deal with it. Now I’m live on the Joe Experience podcast and my heart rate is perfectly fine.

Rogan: This is a very low-pressure situation compared to Brazil.

Rousey: I’m sure there are some people listening, where if they got on they would have a hard time relaxing. The first time I came on your show, I was a bit amped up because I would watch it all the time and I was a fan.

Rogan: Well, if I remember correctly, we might have been medicated at the time. There might have been some plant burning going on (laughs).

Rousey then laughed in response and certainly didn’t deny using any banned ‘medication’ with Rogan. While it may just be a joke between two friends, Rogan is a well-known marijuana advocate. If the ‘joke’ were indeed true, it may not be the most positive look for a fighter who’s been in the news for supposedly dating accused wife beater Travis Browne.

Still, if Rogan is going to be on air calling fighters’ belts fake, he might not want to joke that he’s used drugs with the UFC’s most popular champion, especially when she’s present on the air. What is your take?
