Carlos Condit: I’ve Agreed To Rematch Nick Diaz Twice

Carlos “The Natural Born Killer” Condit has a huge fight in front of him, as he is set to take on current welterweight kingpin “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler for the title at UFC 193 which is set for November in Australia.

Condit is no stranger to title fights, and he has actually worn UFC gold before, albeit it being the interim 170-pound title in which he won via a unanimous decision against Nick Diaz at UFC 143 back in 2012. To this day, however, many still believe that Diaz got the better of Condit, and it was undoubtedly a very close fight.

Diaz is currently awaiting a hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for a failed drug test surrounding his UFC 183 bout with Anderson Silva, but Condit says that nothing short of a rematch would change the minds’ of the fans.

“The Natural Born Killer” also said that he’s agreed to rematch Diaz multiple times, but he doesn’t know if “The Stockton Bad Boy” will come back:

“Honestly, I don’t think anything short of a rematch with [Diaz] would change things in anybody’s mind,” Condit said Monday on The MMA Hour. “I’m not worried about it. I went out there and I got the win. And … I’ve said it in interviews in the past, I’ve agreed to that rematch a couple times. I don’t know if he’s ever coming back.”

Diaz, a fan favorite, is a very difficult man to fight, at least according to Condit. The Jackson’s MMA product says that Diaz is difficult to prepare for, but also that the social media and fan participation that comes with fighting Diaz is not easy.

“The Natural Born Killer” admitted that he’d have to get his head right to meet Diaz, but at the end of the day, he’s not looking passed Lawler. Condit plans to secure the welterweight title at UFC 193, and after he does, he has his eyes set on rematches with top contenders Johny Hendricks, and Tyron Woodley, who are set to face off a month earlier at UFC 192:

“”Fighting Nick Diaz comes with a lot of other stuff,” Condit said. “There’s the fight it and of itself. Hey, it’s a tough fight. It’s a tough guy to gameplan against and to fight. But the fans and the social media aspect, all of that, I’d have to get my head right for that. Of course I’m not looking past Robbie Lawler, but if I get this belt, I’d like to avenge a couple losses to the next couple of guys who you mentioned earlier, Hendricks and Woodley.”

Will Condit get by Lawler, and would you like to see “The Natural Born Killer” go round two with “The Stockton Bad Boy”?
