Contrary to recent announcements made by K-1 regarding Saturday's Final 16 Event, one of the card's most anticipated competitors, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski, will not be participating after all.  Just days before "The Pittbull" was said to be facing Romanian kickboxer Raul Catinas, Arlovski took to his Twitter account and broke the news to his fans and followers.

While neither K-1 nor Arlovski himself have offered any details on the matter, talk of financial hardship within the organization has become commonplace as of late.  Stay tuned to LowKick for additional information as it becomes available.

Arlovski is such a disappointment....promised a lot but lived up to little of it. He had a decent run in the UFC but if you look at even if his early fights, he lost to some terrible opponents and has made this name for himself practically out of a myth...

dissapointing, i wanted to see how he would do in K-1.

i was thinking this would be good to sharpen his striking tools to bring back to MMA..... or could be a start on a new fight career.

if it is a money issue, maybe he'll be Barnett's SF debut opponent; poor Andrei.

That actually sounds plausible... They shouldn't put Barnett at the top of the latter right away, but on the other hand they cant put a name like that in there with some nobody. Andrei has been on an ugly streak lately, but his name carries enough value to sell the fight.

Wasn't really looking for him to make much of an impact in K1 anyway.
