With only two weeks until event time, fans had started sweating about DREAM's annual New Year's Eve card, with so many rumours flying around. But last night, the company held a press conference to announce the majority of the card, which has the biggest names in any overseas MMA event in recent years, with more fights to be announced. Currently confirmed, Bibiano Fernandes will defend his DREAM Featherweight strap against Hiroyuki Takaya, while Lightweight legend Shinya Aoki fights Yuichiro Nagashima in a mixed rules match that will see the first round held under MMA rules, the second under K1 rules. As well as this, Gegard Mousasi will take on Kayataro in a K1 bout, as he looks to continue his run of success in Japan.

The card, set for 31st December in the famous Saitama Super Arena, currently looks like this:

    * DREAM Welterweight Championship bout: Marius Žaromskis vs. Kazushi Sakuraba
    * DREAM/K-1 Special Rules bout: Japan Shinya Aoki vs. Japan Yuichiro Nagashima
    * DREAM Lightweight bout: Tatsuya Kawajiri vs.Josh Thomson
    * DREAM Featherweight bout: Kazuyuki Miyata vs. Caol Uno
    * K-1 MAX bout: Japan Tetsuya Yamato vs. Japan Akiyo Nishiura
    * DREAM Featherweight Championship bout: Bibiano Fernandes vs. Hiroyuki Takaya
    * DREAM Welterweight bout: Hayato Sakurai vs. Jason High
    * K-1 bout: Gegard Mousasi vs. Kyotaro
    * DREAM Featherweight bout: Hideo Tokoro vs. Kazuhisa Watanabe
    * DREAM Openweight bout: Ikuhisa Minowa vs. Izumi Hiroshi

On top of this seriously stacked card, Current K1 WGP Champ Alistair Overeem is expected to fight, with a rumoured bout with Bobby Lashley seeming a real possibility. Melvin Manhoef is also expected to fight, although no opponent has yet been confirmed.

I'm so pissed at Gegard, he keeps fighting low ass level of competition... i feel like he could be the best in the world but he ruins his career by avoiding the best and fighting nobodies...

Overeem vs Lashley would be like watching a death penalty live... poor Bobby...

Can't wait to watch Manhoef fight, whoever he fights, win or lose, i just love his fights so much...

I'm pretty sure Gegard is fighting who ever they give him, I really doubt he's choosing his opponents and anyways Im just happy to see him fight, he amazing to watch

Apparently it's going to be a K-1 rules fight, not MMA. It'll be his first K-1 match, give him a break.

Well, not his first K-1 rules fight but he only has a couple, nowhere close to top-ranked.

And Kyotaro has fought 20+ K-1 bouts and defeated the likes of Manhoef, Aerts and Le Banner... doesn't sound like much of a schlub to me.

Lashley lost to a nobody in his last fight. Now he faces one of the best HW in the world. Guess what will happen ?
