Former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Title contender Renato "Babalu" Sobral shared his excitement with Tatame.com over the participation at Dream's next Light Heavyweight Tournament. Babalu, who holds an impressive 35-9 record, will look to reclaim his place at the Top 10 Light Heavyweight rankings:

“We’re going with everything, total pressure. Tournament in cool, give you an extra gas. I’m training since January, so I took a break, everything controlled by the physical coach. I am careful from overtraining, but I feel like I’m 18 again.”

Renato Sobral lost his Strikeforce Light Heavyweight title in his last fight to Gegard Mousasi, at the Strikeforce: Carano vs Cyborg event. Babalu revealed that would welcome a rematch against "The Dreamcatcher", who will also participate at the Tournament:

“Of course, a fight against him would have an extra flavor, but if it doesn’t happen I’m cool. I’m only worried with my side, training to beat him, beat everybody up there."

Thirty-four year old Renato Sobral is a decorated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Carlos Gracie Jr, with 18 of his 35 victories come by the way of Submission. Sobral is expected to make his debut at Dream.15, that will take place on Tuesday May 30th, in Japan.

I couldn't disagree more. Renato is extremely talented on the ground and has okay stand up. He is still a tough fight for anyone. His last fight with Gegard was just one of those things. He got caught right out of the gate. On the ground he might beat Mousasi.

I am a big Babalu fan. I am excited to see his return. His stand up is good, and his ground game is vicious.
