Ralek Gracie says, "Women, know your limits."

Anyone who the reference is lost on needs to see this classic bit of comedy.

This is why Gracie is such a cool family.

Looks Gracie worthy on the ground, but he has zero striking though. Thats not good. Just like Bas said, someone will time & counter that front kick and its game over.

How many Gracies have to lose to this guy before they start incorporating striking into their game. EVOLVE man, BJJ is great but it's not nearly as effective when their are so many rules in place, you need SOMETHING to compensate.

@Madnessstill, you are completely right but i think the Gracies seem to think if a jiu jitsu guy gets in the cage against a striker and the jiu jitsu guys striking sucks but so does the strikers jiu jitsu, the odds would be slightly more in the jiu jitsu's guys favour really, not always of course but in a lot of cases, the guys who can do BOTH really well seem to dominate, just a thought......

I just notice that ever since they started actually enforcing rules for these fights, the gracies aren't even a fraction as dominant. When there was headbutting and hairpulling and ankle kicks to the spine, gracies couldn't be touched.

Its more to do with how quick they will stand you up now.

Ie: the rules. The gracies can't wait for the guy to frustrat himself from slow building damage and make a mistake...there's no pressure. If the defender can keep the gracie in a neutral position then there's a standup, and because there are a ton of illegal strikes, they probably haven't sustained much damage.

It's like they said "today it's no longer who's the best fighter, it's who can take advantage of the rules most consistantly" But to be as dominant as they once were, they HAVE to adapt and evolve, or Sakuraba and people like him are going to mount embarrassing winstreaks against them.

    I'm predicting sakuraba wins.
