Dream.14 Results, Videos and LowPick leaders
Posted on May 29, 2010, 10:44 AM by Anton GurevichThis weekend's Mixed Martial Arts portion started with an attractive Dream.14 event, held at the world-famous Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The event was headlined by the Welterweight bout between the Strikeforce 170 Champion Nick Diaz and the iconic "Mach" Hayato Sakurai. MMA Legend Kazushi Sakuraba returned "Gracie Hunting" against the youngster Ralek Gracie, as Joachim Hansen and Minowaman also took part in the fight card.
Nick Diaz continued his impressive form by submitting Hayato Sakurai via an impressive armbar, but except of using his Cesar Gracie credentials, Diaz displayed a surprising class (in light off recent events) by raising Sakurai's hand after the fight and thanking him for the competition. Diaz is currently on a 7-fight winning streak, improving his position as one of the top Welterweights in the World.
Surprise of the night came when the young Ralek Gracie defended his family's name by defeating the arch nemesis Kazushi Sakuraba. Gracie won a well-deserved Unanimous Decision, after three rounds of top class grappling.
Next Dream event will be Dream.15, held on July 10th at the same venue. Fighters like Alistair Overeem, Gegard Mousasi, Shinya Aoki, Tatsuya Kawajiri and Melvin Manhoef will be featured on the fight card of what Dream promoters call "the biggest Japanese MMA event of the year".

Diaz destroyed, the guys a beast
I no so goo at Dreem Peeks
Diaz showing some class, I am amazed...
WAR Diaz. Nick is a great fighters and Dana better make good by getting him to the UFC asap.
anyone know Nick's contract status at SF?
With his reputation it will be hard to see him back in the UFC unless he does something big, He was kicked out in the past due to his actions outside the ring..
...you clueless newb. Nick was NOT thrown out of the UFC. He left the UFC ( his own decision) because Cesar Gracie was going to start his own league but it never happened.
White has already said very recently ( within the past week) that he would love to see both Diaz and Melendez in the UFC.
Get a clue before you spout your nonsense and perhaps you wouldn't be looked upon as a dim-witted sped.
you ****ing retard dana said diaz will never fight in the ufc again, because of actions outside the ring. you are the noob prick
Dude WTF are u talkin' about ??????? First of all, everytime i read ur posts, u say the stupidest, most unintelligent shit i've ever heard.....Nick Diaz (who is one of my fav fighters) WAS fired by the UFC!! Lemme tell u why(becuase obviously u are very uninformed). First, He attacked Diego Sanchez in a locker room after a fight (he thru a shoe at him also..LOL). Second, He attacked Joe Riggs at the hospital and knocked him out while joe was walikin down the hall with his IV still attached to his arm....Third, He was losin fights.......U gotta win to stay in the UFC dumbass (except in certain cases where the fighter is super popular and always has exciting fights i.e Clay Guida).
Ceasar Gracie startin his own league?? Did u make that up or what??
? As far Dana wanting him back, yeah he said he MIGHT be interested if he can control his anger issues and drama that he brings with him........Dude ur a moron and stop makin things up.......CLOWN.
...and btw you half-wit by Nick Diaz's "reputation" I hope you are talking about the his reputation of being one of the most talented and accomplished fighters in MMA today....right?
His reputation as a person sux............Everybody knows this. Where have u been???? Great fighter--terrible person. He has been workin on his attitude-which is great but everybody will always remember the dirty ass shit he's done outside the ring.
diaz is a big asshole outside the ring, but inside he can be a gentleman, when he fights of course, ahahahhhahaha
Actually Nick is pretty quiet unless you challenge them or step up with a microphone, you wont get the same result.
Diaz acted like a professional and showing respect a good sign .Thought.
Dias know that the midia and mma fans are suporting him to big fights after his last results, and his behavior after sakurai fight shows tha he dont want to scrull up this oporttunity, i hope so.
I hope Dana gets Nick back in the UFC as soon as his Strikeforce contract is up because he's a waste of talent in that shitty organization, same goes for Melendez
I would also love to see Diaz back in the UFC, and Robbie Lawler so they could put on Lawler vs Diaz 2, that would be cool, realistically, it isn't going to happen, not any time soon anyway, i think Nick is happy being the WW champ for SF for now, what with his boys Jake and Gilbert holding the belts in their weight classes too they've got SF on lockdown. Maybe down the road, who knows, we can hope.........
That's not the case. Diaz has said many times he is looking for the big name fights with GSP and even Silva. He also said making as much money as possible is another goal so he can help his family.
The belt from a lesser org is no roadblock.
Plus, Dana has shown interest in both Nick and Gilbert. The only thing standing in the way is their SF contract.
p.s. that's if Jake Sheilds stays with SF, which i seriously doubt that he will, and i don't blame him...........
Dana said at 110 interview he would love to have Diaz back in the UFC but he did say that he would have to behave and 'play by the rules'
