Dream 17 Results: Aoki submits McCullough, Kawajiri chokes out Hansen


Dream 17 delivered an exciting night of fights this weekend from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Dream Lightweight Champion Shinya Aoki handed former WEC stand-out “Razor” Rob McCullough the first submission loss of his career in the headlining bout, while Tatsuya Kawajiri submitted Joachim Hansen in his Featherweight debut. Takeshi Inoue landed a devastating headkick to knockout Caol Uno in the opening-round of their 145-pound clash and Yan Cabral choked out veteran Kazushi Sakuraba to extend his win streak to ten.

Also featured was the quaterfinal round of the Dream Bantamweight Tournament, which saw WEC and UFC vet Antonio Banuelos, former division champ Bibiano Fernandes, submission specialist Masakazu Imanari, and Nova Uniao product Rodolfo Marques all advance to the semifinals.
