Aleksander Emelianenko: I have nothing to do with any Russian Nationalist movements
Posted on March 23, 2010, 05:50 AM by Anton GurevichBrother of the reigning WAMMA World Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko, Aleksander Emelianenko, has recently dismissed any rumors regarding his connections with different Nationalist movements in Russia. A talk show on the popular NTV Channel suggested that 15-3 Emelianenko is an active member in Russian Nationalist movement, alongside Pride veteran Roman Zentsov. "The Grim Reaper" released the following statement on his blog at Sports.Ru:
"I am a sportsman, and I do not agree or take part in any extrimists movements. I do not share their point of view, and would not like to take part in their propaganda. Red Devil Fight Club members come from different nationalities, and I am proud to train with them.
My only interest is promoting Mixed Martial Arts, and representing my country by winning medals and trophies. Anyone who tries to show me as a nationalist or some sort of extrimist, is a liar."
It is not the first time that Aleksander Emelianenko has to deny rumors regarding his "political agenda". Emelianenko's body tattoos talk about variety of questionable subjects, which often make funs to develop different kinds of theories. Aleksander Emelianenko will face the olympic wrestler Eddy Bengtsson at the Russian based ProFC organization, on April 23rd.
