Jon Jones may be one of the best fighters ever to set foot in the Octagon, but he’s also been one of the most controversial, and as such he’s often left Dana White infuriated by his actions.
Jones first felt the sharp end of the UFC president’s tongue when he refused a short notice fight with Chael Sonnen at UFC 151 that led to the entire event being scrapped.
White ripped into Jones in the media afterward, calling him “selfish” and “disgusting” for “murdering” the event.
Their relationship only became more strained in the years that followed as Jones life spiraled out of control, with legal troubles and failed multiple USADA drug tests leading to him being stripped of his 205lb title on no less than three occasions.
“Even when he would completely f–k up, he would pull himself together and come out and completely f–k up again,” White said on the Jim Rome show recently.
As such, though Jones is still technically a UFC fighter, White has washed his own hands of him, declaring the troubled star to be “unfixable” and “the biggest waste of talent in all of sports.”
